Abstract
Baground- Coat’s Disease is a rare non-hereditary ocular disease with no systemic manifestations which mimics Retinoblastoma.
Methods- We analysed 17 cases between 2010 and 2020 who underwent enucleation and were histopathologically(HPE) confirmed. Clinical features, ultrasonography findings and HPE features were correlated.
Results- Ultrasonography showed exudative retinal detachment with no calcification. Other features were increased vitreous echoes and increased choroidal thickness. HPE findings were retinal detachment, retinal telangiectasia, cholesterol clefts, foamy cells and intraretinal edema.
Conclusion- Coat’s disease has characteristic HPE findings. Ultrasonography often can distinguish it from retinoblastoma and other entities causing leukocoria.
