Abstract

Aims:Evaluation of dry eye ,Examination of fundus and grading of diabetic retionopathy.

Introduction: Diabetes mallitus has become a major public health concern in recent times.Among ocular complications much importance is given to diabetic retinopathy and ocular surface disorders.

Methods:Visual acuity was measured with Snellen’s chart detailed anterior segment examination was done under slit lamp.Tear film evaluation was done – TBUT,Schirmer’s test I, schirmer’s test with anesthesia . Fundus examination under mydriasis . Retinopathy if present was classified by ETDRS classification.

Results:Dry eye prevelance was found significant as compare to nondiabetic patients at tertiary eye care hospital.we studied correlation between dry eye and diabetic retinopathy.

Conclusion: As dry eye and stage of diabetic retinopathy was increased with duration of diabetes but according to our study dry eye and diabetic retinopathy was not significantly associated with each other.
