Abstract
Introduction-Van Herick test is done to assess the peripheral anterior chamber depth in fraction of corneal thickness during a routine slit lamp examination,Gonioscopy is the gold standard for anterior chamber angle status assessment and ASOCT is a new modality for the same Materials and methods-An Analytical cross sectional study over a period of 6 months done in Tertiary care center in Northeast India.Total of 200 eyes of 100 random patients who presented to OPD were included Results and Conclusion-In our study, 10% of the eyes with Van Herick’s grading, 4% with gonioscopy, and 3.33% of the studied eyes showed angle closure by ASOCT. Van Herick method has high sensitivity and high negative predictive value, so can be used as a screening tool in detecting angle closure,ASOCT having a high specificity,to confirm angle closure and detect closure mechanism to some extent. At present, Gonioscopy is Gold standard in evaluation of anterior chamber angle and none of the above can replace it.
