Abstract
Frosted branch angiitis causes characteristic florid translucent retinal perivascular sheathing of both arterioles and venules PURPOSE-Retrospective study of 4 rare cases of FBA who presented to 2 tertiary eye care centers in south India with follow-up ranging from 9 to 18 months METHODOLOGY- Retrospective review over 2 years. RESULTS-We had immunocompetent to suppressed as 1:1.The immunosuppressed were HIV-positive with unilateral frosted branch angiitis and CMV Retinitis. They were started on HAART and Intravitreal gancyclovir. The immunocompetent group had an idiopathic and Behcet patient each. They had drastic improvement after starting steroids and cyclophosphamide, respectively. Presenting best vision ranged from hand movements to 1/60. The final vision ranged from 6/36 to 1/60. CONCLUSION: Delineating the immune status is the first vital step as treatment plans are poles apart. Early diagnosis, targeted treatment, and meticulous follow-up is key to treatment success.
