Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the preoperative and post operative intraocular pressure control, following trabeculectomy surgery with mitomycin-C and assess its efficacy and determine the factors in case of failure
Methods: Patients with glaucoma with poor IOP control on prolonged anti-glaucoma drugs, deterioration despite adequate control, poor compliance, were enrolled. (January 2021 to July 2022, 30 cases) Detailed ophthalmic evaluation including IOP, visual fields and OCT-RNFL, ONH evaluation was done. Systemic examination for diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases checked. High risk patients were excluded.
Results: The post-operative IOP control was good in 80% cases and patients had no complications so far. Follow-up is being carried out. Few patients required post-operative IOP lowering agent.
