Abstract
Role of Topical and systemic antiglaucoma medication to control IOP after pars plana vitrectomy ± silicone oil injection is limited. Trabeculectomy is also technically difficult because of conjunctival scarring after PPV, and carries a poor prognosis. Glaucoma drainage devices(GDD) having a good surgical option but post operative complication like hypotony maculopathy and cost is a limiting factor for the patient who have already undergone retinal surgery. SLT is a safe, effective and economically affordable option with very few side effects. SLT can be repeated if desirable IOP is not control. SLT can be use as tools to reduce IOP while planning for surgical intervention.
Here we performed prospective interventional study on patient who develops secondary glaucoma after vitreo-retinal surgery, and found significant reduction in IOP which leads to reduction of 1-2 Topical anti glaucoma medication over period of 6 months.
