Abstract
Purpose: To study the effects of laser peripheral iridotomy in Synechial angle closure on the anterior chamber using Pentacam
Methods: A prospective analysis of 160 eyes diagnosed as PAC or PACG who underwent LPI and their anterior chamber parameters were compared before and after LPI at 1 week and 1 month.
Results: Shaeffer’s grade improved significantly in all four angles after LPI. IOP of the PACG Group (29.89±12.71 mm Hg) was higher than the PAC Group (21.45±8.22 mm Hg) .80 eyes belonging to the PAC group, ACV (78.71±25.00 mm3) increased immediately after iridotomy (88.81±24.93 mm3), at 1 week (87.66±24.84 mm3), and at 1-month post-LPI (86.77±23.21 mm3). CACD improved from 1.98±0.33 mm to 2.00±0.32 mm, PACD at 12,3,6 and 9’0 clock with p- values <0.001. In the PACG group, the improvement was less. ACA significantly widened in PAC group. Conclusion: Pentacam is an excellent tool for measuring and quantifying changes in Anterior chamber parameters following LPI.
