Abstract
Aims and Objectives
To outline the clinical presentation, co-morbidities and treatment outcomes of patients presenting to our institute with scleritis
Methods
This was a retrospective analysis of 15 cases presenting with scleritis
Results
A total of 15 cases were analysed. Their patient reported symptoms include redness 60% pain 73% itching 13% and fleshy growth in one. Their associated co-morbidties in 7 include rheumatological illness 20% osteoarthiritis 20%and hereditary elliptocytosis in one with inclusion of one pregnant patient. examination revealed nodular scleritis in 46.6% and diffuse in rest 53.3% ,with associated uveitis in 2 of them. At a median follow up of 11.6 months 6 had complete resolution, 4 had recurrent uveitis and rest 5 had residual scarring. 8 of them BCVA of 1 where rest had <1 Conclusions A majority of case with scleritis completely respond to topical medications. Residual scarring or recurrence noted in patients with underlying rheumatological illness.
