Abstract
Patient came to us with diminution of vision in left eye. Fundus examination showed minimal vitreous haze and sub retinal abscess in the left eye. It was treated with intravitreal voriconazole . Systemically patient was treated with oral voriconazole. Eye showed gradual improvement with reduction in abscess size with intravitreal injections. After 6 months patient developed CNVM in the left eye which was treated successfully with three, monthly injections of ranibizumab. Patient was then followed up for 3 years. At 3 years follow up following Inj. ranibizumab, the best corrected visual acuity was 6/18 .Our case was unique and rare due to the rarity of presentation in an immunocompetent individual with no history of ocular trauma of vegetative origin or otherwise. This report also highlights that aggressive medical and surgical management required to salvage eyes affected by fungal endophthalmitis with sub-retinal abscess. Such patient can develop CNVM related to sub-retinal scar tissue.
