Abstract
AIM: Association between Hypertension and Central Serous Chorioretinopathy. MATERIALS AND METHODS:Observational case study done in 50 patients of CSR between age 20 to 50 years within1 year. Blood pressure was measured at the time of presentation. Inclusion criteria: All patients with CSCR, both male and female. Exclusion criteria: known case of retinal diseases, diabetics, H/O any ocular surgery, patients on steroids.RESULTS:
21 out of 43 males and 3 out of 7 females were found to have elevated systolic and diastolic blood pressure at the time of presentation showing positive correlation CONCLUSION:Majority of the CSCR patients in this study had hypertension. This indicates that hypertension has a role and is a under recognised risk factor in the pathogenesis of CSCR.
