Abstract

Ocular trauma is the most common(MC) cause that lead to subpar vision & decrease in quality of life. AIM-To assess follow up visual acuity(VA) & visual recovery(VR) in patient that had posterior segment injury(PSI) following trauma.MATERIALS METHOD-Retrospective study of PSI patients 18-70years of age from data in Electronic Medical Report from Dec2019 to June2021,OTS scoring was done and their follow up (FU) till june 2022 was assessed.

RESULT- 57 had PSI,24.56% had vitreous hemorrhage,22.80% commotio retinae,5.26 retinal detachment(RD),40.35 traumatic optic neuropathy(TON). With FU,VR of patient having RD was poor,TON had 40-60%VR.CONCLUSION-This study was done during 1st wave of pandemic despite lockdown there were ample trauma cases. All patient had both anterior and PSI.The OTS score prediction of VR was true.There has always been a void in FU in PSI patients and evaluating VR.This study gives the knowledge of VR in patient with PSI& help us give better counseling & rehabilitation
