Abstract
A young male with IgA nephropathy and end stage renal disease who presented to us with grade 1+ vitritis ( SUN working group classification ) , optic disc oedema, retinal haemorrhages, macular exudates, cotton wool spots, exudative retinal detachment in both eyes and a large macular placoid lesion in one eye. We report this case as it was an atypical presentation of a viral non-necrotizing retinopathy occurring secondary to Herpes Simplex Virus type 2 (HSV-2) in a patient with IgA nephropathy .
