Abstract
Abstract:-
Background: To investigate whether there is any relation of peripillary Retinal nerve fibre layer(RNFL) thickness with axial length of myopic eye.
Methods : The study recruited 100 healthy myopic eyes. Images of the macula choroid and optic nerve head where acquired using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT).
Results : An increase in axial length was associated with a decrease in retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL) thickness of the peripheral region it is most appreciable in the peripheral region.
Conclusions : These findings indicate that the microstructure of peripillary areas should be considered when evaluating the axial length in patient with myopia.
