Abstract
Objective: To evaluate safety & efficacy of Jones procedure(JP) in management of involutional entropion(IE). Methodology: From January 2021 to August 2022, a prospective observational study was conducted in department of ophthalmology, western Odisha. 25 eyes from 19 individuals aged 65 to 85 with IE underwent JP. Exclusion Criteria: Cicatricial, spastic, congenital entropion , previous lid surgery. After clamping the lower eyelid with Entropion clamp, a full length incision 4 mm below intermarginal strip was given using diathermy blade, orbicularis oculi dissected, eyeball movement ensured through the tarsus & finally, cardinal sutures followed by two more intermittent sutures taking bites from the lid, tarsus, orbicularis were given. Results: Out of 25 eyes who underwent JP, recurrence- 1 case(4%); 2 undercorrected (8%); 22 successful(88%). Follow up at 1 week, 4 weeks, 6 months. Conclusion: JP is an easy, efficacious, aesthetically acceptable & successful procedure for IE.
