Abstract

An Ambispective Observational study (3yrs retrospective and 2yrs prospective) was undertaken on preterm babies < 34 weeks GA and <2kg BW (RBSK guidelines) presenting with Stage 5 ROP in either or both eyes. 610 eyes of 340 babies with stage 5 ROP who presented to the ROP clinic were assessed for eligibility to be included in the study. Out of 340 babies,324 eyes of 188 babies were included retrospectively and 286 eyes of 152 babies were included prospectively. The study includes demographic details in terms of laterality, gender distribution, state of referral, mode of delivery, gestational age at birth, post-conceptional age at presentation, birth weight, risk factors, and a detailed analysis of gaps in screening, treatment, referral, and awareness about rehabilitation services.
