Abstract

Aim : to see the efficacy of intracameral inj. Of air and lamellar keratoplasty in 2 different eye presented with acute hydrops. Material and methods: 4 eyes of 2 patients of keratoconus of which both were male were included. Result: 1 eye was given intracameral inj of air that showed an early resolution of corneal edema at 4 weeks and BCVA preoperatively was 6/60 which improved to postoperatively to 6/18 while the other eye underwent lamellar keratoplasty BCVA preoperatively was F.C. – 4m which improved to 6/24 after 4 weeks but its feasibility and safety were more favourable and long lasting and complications also remained low. Conclusion : resolution of hydrops may improve the contact lens tolerance and visual acuity but most cases require keratoplasty for visual rehabilitation.
