Abstract
Method : A 28 year old male presenting to Ophthalmology out patient department with features of toxic keratitis with history of honey bee sting was studied . Detailed clinical examination was done. Standard management protocol was conducted. Clinical features and visual outcomes were evaluated.
Result : Raised intraocular pressure with persistent epithelial edema and progressive stromal melt despite the maximal medical therapy
Conclusion : Bee venom can lead to intense inflammatory cascade and tissue destruction. Aggressive topical and if required oral steroids should be initiated as early as possible to salvage vision threatening sequelae
