Abstract
PURPOSE: To describe a rare case of late onset conjunctival capillary hemangioma
CASE REPORT: A 47 year old female presented with a reddish mass lesion in her right eye of 2 months duration.Initially it was a small painless reddish lesion which slowly increased in size. She had profuse bleeding from the lesion. On examination, a 10*10 mm nodular mobile pedunculated lesion was noted on nasal aspect of bulbar conjunctiva. On pre-op evaluation, she was found positive for covid19 and sent for home isolation. After she tested covid negative further follow up was done. The vascularity of lesion decreased and there were no bleeding episodes thereafter.Lesion excised and was sent for histopathological evaluation.
RESULT: Conjunctival biopsy revealed capillary hemangioma.
CONCLUSION: This case highlights the occurrence of conjunctival capillary hemangioma in adulthood, which is very rare. Bleeding from the lesion may be due to thromboembolic events associated with covid19.
