Abstract
Objective:To evaluate relationship between visual function & macular GCC thickness & to evaluate the diagnostic value of Macular GCC Measurement comparing to RNFL & Macular thickness measured by FD-OCT.
Method: All patients underwent reliable Standard automated perimetry & OCT imaging on same day. Relationship between OCT parameters (Mean GCC, Mean RNFL & Macular thickness) & perimetry global indices (MD & PSD) was evaluated by regression analysis. The diagnostic values of mean RNFL, GCC & macular thickness were compared with area under receiver operating characteristic curves (AUC).
Results & conclusion: Total 84 eyes(42 normal and 42 glaucoma) were included in the study. Compared to linear models, curvilinear Second-order polynomial models better explained relationships between GCC thickness & MD, between GCC thickness & PSD. Macular GCC thickness and RNFL thickness showed similar diagnostic values & better than macular thickness for detecting early, moderate, and severe glaucoma.
