Abstract

A 38years/Female presented with redness and discomfort in OD since last 3 months. She was diagnosed as pterygium OD elsewhere and pterygium excision with Autograft was planned. Detailed ophthalmological examination revealed a large elevated, nodular white-grey sessile mass, 6×4.5x5mm3 in size, on medial 5mm (5 clock hours) of cornea, limbus and 1mm of nasal bulbar conjunctiva with tuft of tortuous feeder vessels in OD. Rose Bengal staining was positive. Lesion was clinically diagnosed as OSSN. Maintaining “No Touch Technique” the lesion was carefully excised with 2mm of clear epithelial margins on all sides, followed by 5 cycles of topical MMC over next 5months. Excised mass was sent for HPE and diagnosis of localized OSSN was confirmed. Margins were found negative for neoplastic cells. She was followed up for next 18months and no recurrence was seen.
