Abstract
Purpose- Ocular inflammatory diseases, commonly uveitis, are a manifestation of seronegative spondyloarthropathies.
Aim- To determine the prevalence of ocular inflammatory diseases in seronegative spondyloarthropathies
Method- By prospective observational study conducted in April-November 2021 carried out on patients attending Ophthalmology and Orthopaedics OPD by taking their demographic details and conducting examinations like slit lamp, dry-eye evaluation, fundus examination, and intraocular pressure measurement.
Results- The most common seronegative spondyloarthropathy encountered is ankylosing spondylitis (47%) of which acute anterior uveitis is the most common ocular manifestation (32%). The most common age group affected was 35-45 years (65%).
Conclusion- The early detection of ocular disease in seronegative spondyloarthropathies results in its prompt treatment and better prognosis hence the need for screening of ocular inflammatory disease in such spondyloarthropathies.
