Abstract
This was a retrospective case series of patients receiving more than 1 intravitreal Ozurdex implantations at tertiarycare center.Rise in IOP was defined as a single measurement of ≥25 mmHg, or increase of ≥10 mmHg from baseline. Data recorded were indication for injection, pretreament IOP and IOP 1 week, 1 month &3 months post injection.
Results
30 eyes of 30 patients were treated between July 2021 & December 2022. 28 eyes received a injection, & 2 eyes received 2 injections. Main indications were DME in 19 eyes , post op CME in 3 eyes RVO with ME in 3 eyes . Rise in IOP was observed in 3 eyes IOP rise was not related to pretreatment IOP,age/sex.Eyes with postop CME & receiving more than 1 injection were at greater risk for IOP rise
Conclusion
Intravitreal ozurdex injection is safe and associated with rise in IOP in small % of eyes. Eyes with post op CME are at higher risk & need careful monitoring.
