Abstract
Aim:To report a rare presentation of ciliary block glaucoma following cataract surgery
History: 51 year old female presented with diminution of vision in Right eye with pain since 1month and had underwent cataract surgery 5 months back
Ocular Examination: Vision in Right eye was hand movements.Cornea was hazy.Shallow anterior chamber depth.Iris showed antero-lateral convexity. Intra-ocular pressure(IOP) 44mmHg.Ultrasound Bio-Microscopy(UBM):anterior bowing of iris,closed angle and forward rotation of ciliary processes. Anterior-segment OCT confirmed UBM findings.Left eye within normal limits.
Management: Control of IOP by topical beta blockers and systemic agents,inflammation by topical and systemic steroids.Yag laser peripheral iridotomy followed by Yag laser anterior hyaloidotomy were done.After one week IOP in Right eye was 22 mmHg and vision 6/36.
Conclusion:Prompt diagnosis and management of ciliary block glaucoma lead to reversal of useful vision and significant decline in IOP
