Abstract
Aim: To report a rare presentation of retinal cyst in a patient following suspected blunt trauma
History: 18 year old male presented with diminution of vision in Right eye since 1 month without pain,redness,flashes and floaters. Patient gives an alleged history of trauma to right eye with a tennis ball with no history of diminution of vision following the incident.
Ocular examination: Right eye best corrected visual acuity was 3/60 and dilated fundoscopic evaluation showed retinal cyst in the supero- temporal quadrant. Bscan confirmed the same and showed additional finding of retinal detachment in supero-temporal quadrant. Left eye was within normal limits.
Systemic examination was within normal limits.
Management: Right eye 276 segmental buckle with 240 band buckle and cryotherapy was done.
Conclusion: Regular follow up of patients with trauma is need of the hour which results in prompt diagnosis and management of possible complications
like retinal cyst or retinal detachment
