Abstract
A 41 year female came with complaints of acute painless loss of vision right eye since 3 days BCVA RE was finger counting 2metres and LE was 6/6. On slitlamp examination of right eye cornea had fine KPs and AC had 1+ cells. Dilated fundoscopy showed yellowish,fluffy macular lesions of 5*4*2 DD with dispersed haemorrhages and mild blurring of disc margins with dilated, tortuous vessels suggestive of retinitis most likely viral in nature. OCT macula showed subretinal exudates of retinitis with overlying vitritis. TORCH titre was positive for IgG CMV and HSV1. ACtap was negative for CMV and HSV. She was started on tab Acyclovir 400mg 5times/day and intravitreal ganciclovir 2.5mg/ml was given. Oral steroids was added. On day 2 OCT showed decreased size of lesion to 2*2*1DD with overlying vitreous plaque and vision improved to 6/60. Dose 2 intravitreal ganciclovir was given at 1 week and then OCT showed resolved subretinal exudates and vitritis disappeared. BCVA- 6/36
