Abstract
AIM-To study long term outcomes of acute primary angle closure attack(APAC)Methods-Retrospective study of 31 subjects with APAC &followed up for 3 yrs.IOP,BCVA,No of AGMs were recorded at presentation& follow ups.Time from presentation to Laser Iridotomy was recorded. No of pts with uncontrolled IOP after LPI &requiring intervention was noted.Results-Mean IOP at presentation was 51.06±13.7mmHg,17.35±10.9mmHg at 6months,16.19±7.6mmHg at 1yr &15.45±5.4mmHg at 3 yrs(P<0.001).Mean BCVA was logMAR 1.0 at presentation,0.30 at 6months,0.18 at 1yr &0.18 at 3 yrs(P<0.001).Mean no of AGM was 4.65±1.2 at presentation,1.06±1.2at 6months,0.94±1.1at 1yr& 0.94±1at 3yrs(P<0.001).83.9% pts developed cataract.71% required surgery out of which 63.6% underwent Trab&31.8% Phaco.74.2% pts underwent LPI immediately out of which 29% did not require surgery.Mean IOP in fellow eye was 16.47±9.3mmHg CONCLUSION:Early surgical intervention holds promising outcomes &LPI is effective in controlling IOP in fellow eye
