Abstract
We screened total 1184 babies having weight less than 1200 grams or gestational age less than 28 weeks from January 2018 to Mar 2022. Forus neo fundus imaging system (alike Retcam) was used. These high risk babies received oxygen, ventilation, C-PAP, blood transfusion for their co-morbidies like Apnea, RDS, sepsis etc.
Total high risk babies were 1184. Out of that Stage II, Stage II & Stage IV was observed in 13.5%, 2.8% and 0.36%. Cases received aggressive O2 therapy, 3.71%, 1.18 % and 0.25 %. Cases that were on ventilator and 6.25 %, 1.35 % and 0.08%. Cases who received C-PAP 0.67%. Babies who had sepsis 0.67% diagnosed stage II ROP.
Different stages of ROP along with Plus /Pre Plus disease was noted and correlated with the comorbidities. Appropriate treatment was instituted to curb the progress of ROP. Oxygen therapy, RDS were Marked as significant risk factors for aggressive ROP in these high risk babies.
