Abstract
ROP is a fibrovascular proliferative disorder of developing retina seen in premature infants. If managed appropriately at the right time the progression of the disease can be stopped and it regresses clinically or else it can cause permanent blindness in the infant making it an important cause of preventable blindness. Management of ROP comprises of observation and follow up, ablation of immature retina by LASER photo coagulation, anti VEGF therapy, or surgery depending on the stage and severity of the disease which is determined clinically. In this study we try to assess the management profile and its outcome in a tertiary care health centre in our state. Cases for our study are selected based on the clinical findings of fundoscopic examination by indirect ophthalmoscopy. ROP cases are categorised for different management options and followed up according to ETROP2003 guidelines. Thus we get to know about the in practice management of ROP in our state and its efficacy.
