Abstract
PURPOSE
To report a case of Morning glory disc anomaly in an asymptomatic patient.
A 45 Y/M came to OPD for routine examination.
BCVA
RE 6/6 LE 6/24.
Anterior segment-WNL.
DFE
RE-FWNL.
LE-large excavated disc with a central tuft of glial tissue & peripapillary chorioretinal pigmentation.Blood vessels were supernumerary & fanned out in a radial fashion with healthy macula
Bscan-LE-funnel shaped excavation of posterior fundus incorporating into optic nerve head. Low to moderate dense echoes in front of optic nerve head corresponding to glial tuft.
OCT-elevated annulus of tissue & a peripapillary excavation of RPE adjacent to optic nerve, thinning of RNFL.
FFA -staining of optic nerve head without any leak.
CONCLUSION
Morning glory syndrome-a rare optic nerve head anomaly with incidence-2.6 per 1,00,000.
Loss of vision-due to macular abnormalities or anisometropic amblyopia.
Due to variable presentation, BSCAN, OCT, FFA are helpful in diagnosis & early detection of complications.
