Abstract

A 6 year old male school going child was brought to OPD when his father saw something crawling in the child’s left eye upon complaints of foreign body sensation by the child.BCVA : OU 6/6 .On slit lamp examination : small motile white worm like organisms of about 1mm length were seen in lower fornix and near medial canthus in left eye.Rest of the anterior segment was normal , pupil was reacting briskly to light.The larvae (around 12 in number ) were removed using forceps under general anaesthesia and microbiological examination of saline mount revealed larvae of Oestrus ovis (Sheep Nasal Bot fly ).CT orbits and PNS showed normal study.Follow up period was uneventful.
