Abstract

OBJECTIVE-To study the efficacy of occlusion therapy versus dichoptic method in treatment of amblyopia in children of age >8 years

METHOD-A total of 40 patients of age 9-16 yrs were divided into 2 groups in which 20 patients were advised for dichoptic game method and 20 for patching method.

RESULT-Dichoptic game is very suitable and acceptable for this age group hence they follow all instructions very sincerely. But wearing a patch can be distressing for them and effect their social life hence they try to avoid it.

CONCLUSION-Effectiveness of dichoptic game method is higher than Patching method in older children.
