Abstract
A 53 year old male came with sudden painless diminution of vision in left eye since 30 minutes. No history of ocular trauma, surgery, systemic illness. Vision in right eye was 6/6 & left eye was HMCF, PL +, PR accurate. Left eye had RAPD. Fundoscopy showed cherry red spot & CRAO. OCT showed increased reflectivity & thickness of inner retinal layers. Right eye was normal. BP was 190/110 mmHg. Ocular massage was given for a total of 60 minutes at regular intervals, after applying proparacaine, using of a four mirror Sussman Goniolens. Patient was also treated with Inj Labetalol 20mg, repeated once at 15 minutes. Vision improved to CF 2m at end of 60 minutes. Patient presented after one month, with a vision of 6/9 in the left eye. BP also normalised at 130/80 mmHg on antihypertensives.
